Oh yes the story teller dispatcher...even as a full time ambulance service, we tone and announce the crew #..wait for them to respond then give the address and problem "Trouble breathing". We then alpha page the life story if needed.
As volunteer fire fighter, I know the fustrastion of the dispatcher that tones you out and giving you the whole story and an ICR # to boot, when you are waking up from a dead sleep still trying to figue out what the address is.
at work, we have this dispatcher who works the day shift when i mostly work. he is such an a$$ as if its a dispatchers job to be a shmuck to everyone he talks down to us as if he owns us.
i hate "Base to 710, for an update in the ER" we've been at ER for 20 mins its a very busy hosp. he knows that why bug us all the time.
I dont mind "be advised" we only use it for short messages like be"advised FDNY EMS on scene".
I just think its funny how all of the sudden everyone gets all professional on the radio.
