Well took my basic this past Sat., and I won't know the results until I think Thurs. The wait is gonna drive me nuts. I honestly don't know how I did, cause as soon as I got there my test anxiety kicked in to full gear. I had spent most of the day trien to relax and focus on the fact that I know this stuff, it won't be a problem... ah hell, did that all change when I got there!!!
Everyone keeps saying "You did fine, don't stress." Well, it's to late I'm already stressed out the arse! I suppose I'll let everyone know what the results are when I get them.... if you don't here from me then more then likely the stress has gotten the best of me..... and I need a medic!

hey man dont worry your lucky if you getting it so fast in NY unless you do onsite which is mostly for medics redoing their BLS/ALS state exam. so the rest of us dont get our results till about 6 - 8 weeks later imagine that anxiety. but you should relax cuz at the end you'll hate yourself for bugging out so much.

But anyways hope you past lets us know.

Well got my results today...

First let me tell you of my experience at the test site in OKC. I was do to arrive at 11am, so I got there around 1050am and when I went to go and check in they said, "But you're already taking your test sir." Um, WHAT! Needless to say that all the preparation I did to stay calm and try and keep my anxiety down just went out the nearest frakn' window!

I proceeded to take the test, with my test anxiety in full blast, and I honestly didn't know how I felt when I got done.

Well, I FAILED!

Do not let it bother you! I'm sure you know what your weak spots are, so ensure you study smart and hard. The more you are prepared, the less test anxiety you will have. I wish you the best of luck the next time you take it.

I've met plenty of EMT's that failed their first time and are outstanding basics. Furthermore, when I went through paramedic school, there were 24 students in my class. Out of 24 people, there were only four of us, to include myself that received their numbers the first time testing.

Hey...

I'm still really pissed with what happened and it is/has dragged me down more then I expected. However... I spoke with my instructor and he called NREMT and spoke with someone he knows personally there. He told them of what happened, and he said that they where extremely pissed at Pearson VUE for it. My friends aren't letting me give up, neither is my instructor... I won't either, but it just seems like an easy thing right now.

My instructor wants me to wait till he hears from his friend at NREMT to see what they can do before I reschedule. He seems to think that they will let me retest at no charge to me... That would be awesome!
