Lights and sirens for personal car. 4 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 2
Hey guys i started to volunteer for an org, and we respond to calls in fly cars. i have an 04 chevy impala and want to put in lights and sirens but dont know where to start. i know i dont want to go as far as a light bar but id like it to look good and be affective when im driving through traffic in NYC. any ideas comments anything that could be helpful would be amazing.

Thank you

Hey CJ,

Glad to hear about the new job! Sounds like an interesting one. I can't tell you too much about the lights and siren. They are pretty restricted here in Minnesota. I know a few people that have them (one illegally but he is a nerd... ) the other is from Wisconsin. They both just have the inner window flashers and headlight strobes, one I believe has flashers in the rear lights. I honestly have no idea what to tell you as far as the siren. I had one friend that had one in a very very rural part of northern MN but HE HAD NO LIGHTS! WTF? That is just asking for trouble in my opinion.

Maybe someone else here will have a little more insight on the siren bit.

Later.
Ed

In many states it is illegal for you to put lights and siren on your POV. You need to check with your local law inforcement. There may be restrictions as far as color, ect. Also check with your vehicle insurance. Many companies will not cover you if you have an accident and are using even legal 33's. Be safe. Eightball.
