I have talked to some ppl from Europe before and I have notice there are quite a few differences between the US and your location.
1. Quite a popular topic was compensation. From what I have picked up the medics in the UK are paid much better than here in the states. I could be wrong but aren't the medics in your location paid in the area of $100 thousand per year (US dollars)?
2. Another difference was the education requirements to become a medic. We have anywhere from a 3 month accelerated training program to a 2 year degree. I believe the requirements in some other places are higher. Please feel free to add your education requirements in your area.
3. I don't know what the run volumes in your area are so I can't compare. The service that I dispatch for did over 97,000 runs last year, with aprox. 25 - 35 units on duty depending on the time of day.
I can't wait to hear from everyone else about your locations and calls.
