Here in NY we still use them not totally usually each company has there own version based off the city but its mostly the same. i think its a great thing to have, you have a lot of ppl who dont know how to talk on radios and they yell so loud you cant even hear them 10 codes take away that issue somewhat. i also think it helps somewhat for privacy issues since their are scanners everywhere with someone listening somewhere.
