Hello everyone!

I thought I would try and intitiate some conversation, so let me introduce myself. My name is Marcus and I am a Flight Medic in the Air Force. I've been a Paramedic for 8 years. I stated out as an EMT-B working with Gerogetown County EMS in South Carolina. It was a fantastic place to begin my EMS career. This is where I met one of the best medics I've ever had the pleasure of working with, Mike Ostrander. His knowledge and mentorship were essential elements in my life and career. After graduating Paramedic school, I worked with Horry County EMS for 2 years, than decided for a career change. I enlisted in the Air Force and decided to fly. Being a Flight Medic is a great adventure, but I do miss working as a civilian medic. My future ambitions are to get my RN and someday work as a civilian Flight Nurse and have a part time medic job on the side. Well there you have it! I look forward to discussing medicine and having fun with all of you. Take care and I'll see you in the ditches.

Hello Again Marcus! Welcome aboard!

I'm glad to see you back again. It was nice talking to you the other night and seeing some involvement with the site. Although it was a bit of a pain chatting on the quick chat on the side bar... But it did give me the idea to add the Member Chat to the site! So next time it should be a bit easier.

I can't wait to see all of the stuff that you have to contribute to the site! I think it will be great for everyone to be able to see your writings and photos you have. And I think it will go a long way towards getting the other members to get involved. Not that I can blame anyone since this is MY first post on the forum!!

I know that I still have to get the faq's and the how-to's written and I hope to get them up really quick, but in the mean time if you (or anyone else) have questions about how to add any of your pics to your photo gallery or anything to your blog or anything else at all please send me an email or just post something here on the forum and I will get to it right away.

Again it is great to have you on the site and I'm sure I will get to know you better down the road.

Well i guess ill do the same... my name is CJ i acctauly am just starting my career im finishing my coures in 3 weeks in NYC and hope to get a job soon after. i hope to learn alot from the more seinore ppl who will post and teach us newbys the rops. im starting in this field with the hope that maybe it will lead me to want to fullfil an MD but only g-d knows.

BTW i like th color sceme of the sight very nice. well good luck and happy holidays one and all...

I'm known as Popsie. A nickname that stuck a few years back. Been involed in EMS since 1975. Started as a Navy Corpsman which I'm very proud of. When discharged in 1979 became a civilian EMT. Earned my Paramedic in 1980. Been on the streets since. Have no ambition to go up the food chain. Tried it , but hated it. It took all the fun out of being on the streets. Done a stint as a Flight medic. Loved it, wife leary of it. Changed jobs got to fat to fly. I work primarily on a Fly car. Work on a bus for O.T. Have my ccemtp. Love working the streets. Looking forward to participating on your site.

Glad to meet you Popsie! You certainly have a lot to offer all of us here. You have quite a bit of experience there. I myself only had 4.5 years on the street and then went to dispatch for the last 4 years. I'm glad you took the time to say hello.

Where are you from?
