At the end of the day you have to do what is the best fit for the type of life that you want to lead. With that said here is my two cents:

do your medic training, then straight to nursing school. the biggest plus for the nurse argument is this:

a ten year nurse is a ten year nurse no matter where you go so other than giving up seniority you won't have to start at the bottom of the pay scale if you decide you want to be mobile.

Additionally, after you finish nursing school, with your ems background (you will be working while in nursing school) head straight to the ICU/Trauma team. That sets you up to be able to get a flight job on the rotor. At least here out west, qualified flight nurses are hard to come by and are paid ridiculously well!! The skills you pick up as a medic will serve you well whether you do nursing, or pa or stay a road dog. but thats just one persons opinion
