I hail from a place called Poughkeepsie, new York. It's about 80 miles north of New York city on the Hudson river.

Hey Jason! Glad to see your back for something other than the games

How is everything? I'm working at 2200 tonight, if you are up give me a call.

Yes it's true we worked together for a few years. Lots of fun, Lots of trouble! That is one of the reasons that I still miss working on the street. You got to know people a lot better and it seemed like a lot more fun.

Hey CJ,

Sorry to say I can't help you with the NYC thing, never been there. I would bet that someone else here could help you out though. I noticed some New Yorkers here.

Interesting though on of our medics that moved here from NYC is leaving to Israel on the 27th to volunteer as a medic there for 9 months. I can't imagine what it must be like as a medic there. It will be neat to hear from him, he has a blog and photo gallery up that he is going to update regularly while he is there. They even did a story on him on the local news. Very nice guy.

If you get bored and want to see what is up over there once he is there here is his site address. MedicYehudi.com

Good Luck with the registry CJ!

Hello to all. My name is Richard and I am a medic for Louisville Metro EMS, formerly Jefferson County EMS here in Kentucky. Merger?? Isn't it great....(crickets) We have a few problems but are attempting to work them out.
I have been an EMT-B since 83 and got my medic numbers early last year. We avarage approx 100 thousand runs a year and growing. I know it's not alot compared to some places but when one year you have just over 60 thousand and the next right near a 100 it's a big jump... We are a third service. When county and city merged EMS was taken out of LFD. JCEMS was a third service prior to merger. We have seen alot of changes. I guess the bigest one is that before we were all ALS and now we have Fly cars and BLS units. Hard to get used to hearing two units get dispatched to the same scene for soa or cp.
Just a little about us. Hope all have a safe and Merry Christmas.
